Prithvi Shaw might have brought the World Cup back in India and created ripples the world over with his jaw-dropping batting skills, but his first coach, Santosh Pingulkar, still has one grievance: that of Shaw playing aggressive leg glances early in the innings and losing his wicket. Having trained for nine years in Virar's Yashwant Nagar ground and being a resident of Narangi area of Virar East, India's U-19 captain did his schooling at the National School of Virar. Talk of the India's U-19 captain in the locality, and Shaw is remembered as a mischievous boy who broke window panes while playing cricket. I am happy that I will be remembered always as the first coach of Shaw," said Pingulkar. Mayekar recalled how he often scolded Shaw for breaking window panes frequently while playing cricket in the building.
